Thanks again to those of you who gave me such a warm welcome and for your ongoing prayer support for me in role in leading Young Adult Ministry in this parish. A lot of good things are happening already! God is good! I once read in a book, “Transforming people one at a time is at the heart of God’s plan for the world.” Matthew Kelly My hope is that I’m used as an instrument of His peace, to make this divine plan a reality to our parish and abroad.

During the past several weeks I’ve been praying about a name for my ministry, a name which is relatable to young adults and youth but also applicable to what my goal is in this ministry. This the name of my ministry:

PEAK – Young Adult Ministry

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Peak – meaning the highest point of the mountain.

We’ve also decided that our Patron Saint is Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. The gentlemen in the image below was an incredibly gifted young man. He has been very influential in my own personal faith journey. Next week’s Youth Corner piece will introduce the story and life of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati is a saint for the modern world, and especially for the young people of our time.

Other great news: CaperBase Outreach Services is an organization on George Street which supports youth and young adults at risk. CaperBase workers reach out to those struggling with home life, drugs, abuse etc. As a parish, we are going to put a donation box at the entrance of the church where we can begin collecting necessary items for this establishment. I’ve spoken to the coordinator of CaperBase and the biggest needs are as followed: Razors, shampoo, bath towels, nail clippers, shaving cream, body wash and other toiletries. Therefore, beginning this week, we will begin collecting items to donate to them on behalf of Holy Redeemer Parish!
